Roma vs Venezia Prediction and Match Preview
Roma will be looking to build on their recent 2-1 win over Udinese when they host Venezia at the Stadio Olimpico this Sunday. The Giallorossi have had a bit of an up-and-down start to the season, but they’ll be confident of picking up all three points against a Venezia side that has really struggled so far.
Venezia have only managed 4 points from their opening 5 matches, with their sole victory coming against Genoa. They’ll be the underdogs heading into this one, but manager Eusebio Di Francesco will be hoping his side can spring a surprise against the more fancied Roma.
One player to watch for Roma will be young midfielder Niccolo Pisilli, who has impressed in the early weeks of the season and could keep his place in the starting XI. Venezia will be relying on American midfielder Gianluca Busio to provide the creative spark, but they’ll need more from the rest of their squad if they’re to get anything from this trip to the capital.
Key Stats
- Roma have won 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two sides.
- Venezia have only scored 3 goals in their 5 Serie A matches so far this season.
- Roma’s Artem Dovbyk has scored 3 goals in his last 2 appearances in all competitions.
Prediction
This has the makings of a comfortable home win for Roma. They’ve shown they can grind out results, and with Venezia’s struggles in front of goal, I can’t see the visitors causing too many problems. I’ll go for a 2-0 win for the Giallorossi.
